New Home > Planning Your Appointment
Building a house can be one of the most satisfying - or challenging - activities that home buyers can undertake. At Accurate we strive to take over some of those aggravating activities and turn them into satisfying experiences. The difference between building a dream home and a "nightmare on Elm Street" has a great deal to do with following through on many of the details related to building a house. Prior to your appointment at Accurate, we want you to imagine yourself in your new home...
Imagine entertaining on your deck with your friends while listening to your favourite playlist on your iPod that is docked inside your house. Imagine listening to music in the Ensuite while you soak in your tub and relax. Imagine having a complete cinematic experience with surround sound in the comfort of your own home. Imagine having all of your equipment in one location, hidden away but allowing you full control in every room at every television location. Imagine controlling all of the lighting in your home by setting scenes with the touch of one button.
We provide the expertise, you provide the dream…a big dream…we can handle any request from surround to automated lighting. No request is too big, or too small…
Here’s what is going to happen at your appointment:
- We will review your plans to ensure they’re updated and correct.
- We will discuss Accurate and who we are and what we do.
- We will discuss our relationship to your builder and how our processes work with the construction of your home.
- We will discuss your lifestyle and what you need in your home.
- We will discuss the products we carry and why we carry them.
- We will give you a demo of our showroom.
- We will go over your budget and design your wiring for what works with your life.
- We will mark your plans with your preferred locations.
- Your Technical Design Consultant will send you a design document after our meeting with all the details of our meeting broken out.
- Your Technical Design Consultant will help guide you so that you have the right wiring and components to create the elegance and atmosphere you want in your new home..
The integration of electronics is an integral component of the infrastructure of your new home and can affect many other aspects of your home such as furniture placement and interior design. We recommend that all decision makers are present at your appointment.
Here’s what you need to prepare for the appointment:
- Think about where you would like to put your phones, televisions, computers.
- Think about if you would like to run wireless or hard-wired computers.
- Think about who your provider will be for phone, cable, satellite or internet.
- Think about running internet to your TVs for future streaming video and automatic updates.
- Think about putting an internet connection in your kitchen so you can view online recipes.
- Think about your security needs:
- Do you want to see who’s at your front door?
- Do you want your phone to ring when someone rings your doorbell?
- Do you want to be able to turn on your alarm in the comfort of your bedroom?
- Do you have pets?
- Do you want to be notified if your sump pump fails?
- Do you want to have your water shut off when you leave the house so there’s no fear of water damage due to a burst pipe?
- Think about where you would like speakers.
- Think about whether you want us to wire for your existing speakers.
- Think about new speakers up and out of the way hidden in your ceiling.
- Think about home automation.
- Would you like your lights to come on and off automatically at certain times of the day?
- Would you like to be able to push a button when you’re having a party and have your music come on, your lights to be set specifically for your party?
- Would you like to be able to integrate your security system with the rest of your house so that if you’re away, your lights will alternate so that it looks like your home?
Remember, now is the time to get the infrastructure in your home. Running the lines while your walls are open is much more affordable than doing it after your finished walls are painted.
